EVENTS

The Latino Institute hosts many events throughout the year. These events serve both as revenue producing activities, but also all serve to the major purpose of educating the larger society about the various Latino communities.

TECHPR 2008 - This Technology in Education conference is held each December in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with participation of 200 teachers from Puerto Rico and 200 educators from the United States.

Latino Issues Convention and Business Exposition - This annual event has been celebrated for the last five years, and is hosted at a major convention center. Average daily attendance has fluctuated between 1,000 and 3,000 people.

Latino Scholars Luncheon - A high-powered lunch at the Newark Club featuring leaders in the higher education community, elected officials, and corporate supporters.

 Once in a while, we organize golf tournaments as fund raisers for our programs. Please mark you calendar for the Charity Golf Invitational Tournament which will be held at Casa de Campo (www.casadecampo.com.do ), La Romana, Dominican Republic, May 14-18, 2009.
